| The roots of origin of all museums in Serbia, including the Historical Museum of Serbia, are in the foundation of the National Museum in Belgrade in 1844, when for the first time an idea of collecting, preserving and presenting museum objects, intended to illustrate the history of the Serbian people became a reality. |

| Muzej istorije Jugoslavije osnovan je 1996. godine spajanjem Memorijalnog centra „Josip Broz Tito“ i Muzeja revolucije naroda i narodnosti Jugoslavije. Naš fond obuhvata preko 200.000 eksponata koji ilustruju jugoslovensku istoriju tokom 20. veka, sa posebnim akcentom na život i delo Josipa Broza Tita. U sastavu Muzeja istorije Jugoslavije su: “Muzej 25. Maj“, “Stari muzej” i “Kuća cveća”. |

| The Jewish Historical Museum in Belgrade was founded in 1948. The Museum is established within the Federation of Jewish Communities of Serbia and is a unique museum in the country. It is thematically specialized and complex in terms of contents. Apart from museum collections, it also has a significant archive. |

| The Museum of Applied Art was founded in 1950. It belongs to the category of specialized museums. The main activity of The Museum of Applied Art is systematic collecting, protecting, studying, exhibiting and publishing works of applied art. |

| Ethnographic Museum was established in February 1901, but its roots reach deeper into the past. Gathering of ethnographic items started as early as in the middle of 19th century, and in 1844 some ethnographic items could be found in the National Museum of Serbia (Serbskonarodni muzej). |

| The museum collects the most important works of Yugoslav painters, sculptors and graphic artists of the XX century, and it its the only institution which chronologically and anthologically presents Yugoslav modern art, its roots, directions, and current values. |
